Welcomw to the Matalassers Guild
As President of the Guild of Mattress Makers I feel very proud to represent a Guild that has its beginnings in the year 1444, with "The approval of the chapters and Ordinances of the brotherhood of the trade of Mattress Makers and Covers" granted by Fernando II.
In addition, the Guild's website offers you the pleasure of recovering the historical heritage of our Trade and the direct testimony of so many decisive moments that the Guild of Mattress Makers has been a contemporary of the history of our Country. However, you can browse in the "Our History" section, the book edited and documented by the Historians of the Faculty of Barcelona Drs. Inmaculada Richaud López and Maria Isabel Rivas Valdelvira.
During all these centuries, the trade has been changing and adapting to achieve the best rest for everyone. Many products have been used to achieve this, from straw, feathers, cotton to the best known, wool, a material that has been used to this day as the main product.
Times have changed, and today, once again, adapting to new technologies, we offer new products and put the best of our knowledge at the service of our public to achieve what we have always sought, to offer the best rest. Materials such as springs, viscoelastic, foam with all its variants, latex and even wool, continue to form part of our mattresses.
From the Guild of mattress makers, we have always searched for the best materials to get the best rest, because since always, what the human being has needed is to rest after a hard day's work.
Our establishments, easy to recognize, both by our anagram of the Cotton Flower, and by the D, identifying Gremi Descans, are attended by highly qualified personnel, who on many occasions are inherited from the knowledge of their grandparents and parents, and that on more than one occasion, their businesses can exceed 100 years old.
The treatment offered, both personal and professional, is always focused on giving the best advice to choose the most suitable product for the rest of each person who enters our stores. In our establishments, ethics and good practice are work standards accredited by this Guild.
